    My first red tail was a handful and I never got him to calm down. :( Hope this guy settles down for you within a year.

    My guess by the pic and the type II anery blood is some CA blood in there. Post the pic you sent via pm to me here if you can. He sure is pretty.
    My best advice is to keep regular handling and eventally, he should calm down. Just keep in mind that it is much easier and less painfull to work with a nippy snake of that size vs. when it gets 5, 6, or even 7 or 8'
