seriously, i couldn't have done it without the love and support from all my great friends here. you guys are the bestest! :D

Everyone else has already said the same things that are on my heart and mind about all of this....so I won't try to repeat them. Just wanted to say I agree 100% and am VERY proud to call Emily a friend and partner!

good--i'm treating the other 2 girls that i have that came from ed and once that's finished i'll take fecals from all of them for retesting. coccidia can be tough to get rid of and the treatment is not too pleasant (nasty, sticky meds by mouth once per day for 7 days) so i'm hoping one round will do it.

My thoughts are with you Em and my hopes that your collection of lovely snakes will come through this with flying colors. It seems your excellent husbandry knowledge and your quarantine procedures have prevented anything from spreading (this is a lesson to all of us to never slack up on those two areas).

I looked at it this way Emily. You could have just shut up, never done business with Ed again and basically let it go at that but you chose to put yourself in the firing line and speak up. You did it for your collection, your right to a fair business deal but also I suspect because you couldn't NOT do it for all the other people and snakes that might be affected now and in the future. Good for you sweetie, good for you!

that is EXACTLY why i did it. i felt i owed it to the animals involved and to their owners so that they could take the proper precautions with their animals. knowing that snakes that came from a particular seller may have parasites and/or may have been misrepresented is something that is unfair to hide from the public. when the well-being of animals is at stake you simply have to speak up!

I wanted to throw my two cents in the pan as well. I typically do not have the patience to read the threads that turn to junk on the BOI, but I did keep up with th thread for the first 2 days. Emily, you did a great job, and I applaud you for that. I have historically stayed out of the BOI, because I know that I will go off on someone and have a negative mark put on myself. I really just hate the fact that most posters have not even taken the time to read the entire thread before they open their mouth. More than once I had to bite my tongue, and not post, because so many people were crying about Emily's "wrong doing", when all she wanted was to inform people about a POSSIBLE problem that MAY exist in their collection IF they received animals from Ed.

Emily, my hat is off to you, and I think you did a wonderful job with a very INFORMATIVE thread on the BOI.

    Sincerely,

Wow what a thread that is! :O   for Emily....you go girl!

On a side note, I'm only up to page 24 and the curiosity is killing me.... does Ed post more than once at the beginning of the thread?

Nope, but a post he made in their mod forum was posted where he called Emily a liar.

I am really curious to find out how many more animals from other people test positive?

Emily, after reading the entire thread, it really shows your passion and your commitment for these animals (and that you've got some guts as well!) and your concern for other people out there as well. It takes a strong person to be able to take the backlash and respond without their emotions getting in the way. In short, you rock!
