    LOL These are great!
*My* cat, Rattles, is the quentassental (sp?) morning toe biter.... but only with my 6 year old daughter. :8: He will go into her room every morning, flop down on her blanket by her feet and start nibbling on them. As soon as she moves her feet "the game is on!". He will stalk, pounce, leap, whatever it takes, to get a bear hug around her foot and start chewing on her toes until she gets out of bed.

With me, he's the "alarm clock". He comes into the bedroom every morning around 7 am, motor going loud as can be and starts rubbing his belly back and forth across my face. If I don't succumb, he proceeds to laying across my neck and starts kneading my hair and head and rubbing his nose on my ear. He'll do this for as long as it takes for me to get my lazy butt out of bed and get him and his brother their breakfast.

One of the cats I use to have (a seal point siamese), would get up on the bed every morning, sit on my chest and stare at me until I opened my eyes. If I didn't open my eyes, he'd get right up in my face and put his cold, wet nose on mine. If I still did not open my eyes, he'd give his nose a good lick to make sure it was plenty wet then put it on my eyelids. If THAT wasn't enough to get me to at least blink, he'd start licking my eyelids! :O Now imagine how it would feel to have a cat's sand paper tongue all over your eyelids..... worked every time; I was up then for sure!

My female Beta, Chloe is a talented fish. I bought her last fall out at college and she showed her talent right away. She's a very excitable fish--and whenever someone walks into the room she gets all giddy, because she's expecting food. She got so excited one night when I was going to feed her, that she lept out of the water. I thought it was pretty neat, so every time I would go to feed her, I would dangle her fish food box over the bowl until she jumped.

Now, it's pretty automatic behavior for her. I was so proud of her talent that I'd show everyone who came over. When I brought her home for the summer, my parents fell in love with her--my Dad especially (he says she's so smart because she's "college educated"). I stopped feeding Chloe myself entirely over the summer because I found out my Dad was feeding her, my Mom was feeding her and my Sister was feeding her (overfed Beta alert!). We worked out a system for not overfeeding her soon thereafter--I didn't want her to get fed to death!

When it came time for Chloe and I to go back to college, I decided that because my parents got so attached, I would leave her at home. My parents were really happy about it--and I'm sure they're spoiling her rotten!

If I ever leave a HI-C Orange juice box unattended, Munchie will sneak on over and will grab the straw and store it away, knock it over and drink as much as he can before I find it. Silly kitty.

He has always been one to play fetch. He just loves those plastic spider Halloween rings. When you go to throw it he makes these short meows.

Cats are so funny. Could never live without one.

My red belly turtle begs for food. Every time my daughter, boyfriend or myself walk by his tank, he starts flailing his legs and trying to climb out of the tank. It is the funniest thing to watch.

One of my cats seems to think he is a dog. Goes out to potty with the dogs, eats out of their bowls, comes when you call him, loves his tummy rubbed and even drinks out of the toilet. I swear if he starts barking, I will not be surprised.

Everyone's stories are so funny. I have so many stories, it is hard to pick a few to post.

My dog Bear (whos a grumpy old man... LOL..he's 10 yrs) will come nudge you with his nose when he feels he is not getting enough attention. When he was slightly younger, he used to jump up on the front door, run around the living room in a circle, then jump back on the door to let you know he wanted out.

We had a dog Kody (who has since passed) that used to lay on the couch and pull up a blanket over him. All you could see would be his nose poking out. I miss him alot!!

Our newest dog,Cubby, will let you know when he is hungry and his food bowl is empty by running around the house with his bowl in his mouth. He has also found that the best water in the water bowl apparently must be the water at the very bottom, so he will dig in his bowl to get to that water.... we have since put a huge plastic mat on the floor to catch the unwanted, less than the best top water...LOL.

Our oldest cat Peek-a-Boo is an indoor outdoor cat. He also eats his canned food by scooping it with his paw, and will run to the front door and almost sing letting you know that he wants out. And when he wants back in he will climb up on our little plastic shed which is located outside just under the little kitchen window (which doesn't have a curtain covering it). He will sit there until someone walks by and then "cry" and just stare at you, usually scaring me half to death.

My other two cats love the rings on the milk gallons also. They will play together with these, almost like playing soccer in the kitchen, until it gets "lost" under the fridge.

My male cockatiel, Ceasar, can "sing" a smoke detector alarm. He sounds exactly like one going off and is pretty loud about it too. Luckily he doesn't do it very often, but when he does it is usually about 5am...

    Oh geez, milk carton rings!
Siam LOVES those things and will *not* let Rattles have them. Siam will quite literally run off and hide them in our bedroom so Rattles won't play with them. If he catches Rattles with one or, God forbid, I should give him one, Siam will walk up, bulldoze Rattles, grab the ring away and head off to either go hide it or get up on our bed to play with it... by himself.

    These are so cool!

My resentfully tripedal cat Captain Ahab has a wet hair fetish...everytime I get out of the shower and sit down on the couch, he begins gnawing on my scalp. It's very odd. He's done it to a few other girls who've been guests, but never to a guy. If I move away, he uses his claws to maintain his grip.

When I go to work, I have to take my little Papillon mix with me. She has mastered "Stay" to the point that I can put her in a chair or pet bed and she will not get up. One day she was there for 12 hours straight when we were all too busy to remember to take the poor thing out. She thinks it's her job...she flies out the front door to the car every morning, and when we arrive she fusses at me until I lift her to her bed on the front desk. She loves greeting all the clients, and now they ask for her by name! We're at work now as I type this, and she's curled up on a towel next to the keyboard, snoring delicately.

Funny stories! Here's a few of my own (all these pets have gone on to their rest after living long lives with us).

Shadow our black lab tried to nurse the new kitten Puss Cat. Poor thing had no milk, having never been bred but she sure thought that kitten was her baby. Gawd help any neighbourhood dog that dared to even glance at "her baby" LOL.

Shad had a thing about raiding the garbage or stealing food (she'd been a hungry stray before we adopted her) but poor Shad had a terrible time with her guilty feelings LOL. She'd steal something then before she could bring herself to eat it, she'd bring it to us....eyes downcast, tail between her legs, mouth full of contraband. Nothing would make her feel better unless you took it away from her, told her in a firm voice (most of the time we were pretending) that she was a naughty dog for stealing things. Then she'd perk right up and run off...happy she'd been caught I guess LOL.

She was also a hypochondriac. She'd be fine but if you said "oh dear Shad are you feeling sick? poor girl!" she'd slowly slide down till she fell over on her side. Of course a simple "hey Shadow, want a cookie?", brought her back to full health again. What a nutty dog she was!

Her buddy Puss Cat, having been "nursed" by a dog spent her life pretty much convinced she was one. Didn't much like other cats, thought dogs were cool, heeled on walks, loved car rides, came when she was called and pretty much was top dog of our house. Funny enough....unlike most cats she detested anything made of fish/seafood....adored pork chops and steaks!

Puss had one very odd habit. When she was a kitten she'd lick/groom men's armpits while they slept. My ex-husband or any male guest of ours that slept in our house had to keep that kitten locked out of the bedroom or chance waking up with sore armpits or being constantly bugged at night while she tried to tidy up their pits....goofy kitty!

My cat Ginger is a clepto, I noticed that I had some money missing one day (figured hubby snaged a 5$ or some thing), one day my purse was unzipped and I watch my fat cat jump INSIDE my purse jump out with a dollar bill in her mounth and run behind the sofa. I followed her and found about 12$ a pack of cigs and about 100 lighters. When we let the dog out to potty Ginger stands by the door to catch any thing that comes in (including the dog). If I'm yelling at the dog she'll run up and start slapping the dog in the face and bitting her feet. She is by far the loudest stepping cat I have ever seen, and when you pet her you can only pet her for 10 sec before she'll bite you she's a mean kitty (the people who had her before had meanie kids that tormented any kind of animal and if the animal defended its self it got kicked by mom and dad!). She is the WEIRDEST cat I have ever seen and if I were to list all of her quirks this would be a 20 paged post.
Lexi our Pit Bull HAS to sleep under the covers with her head on a pillow or she will not go to sleep. Lexi and Ginger both watch Animal Planet when we go to work, one time we foregot to leave the tv on and when we came home the house was a MESS. Poo on the floor, litter box fliped over, trash can fliped over, and a nice sized hole in my sofa:eek: , they're way of saying "that's what you get" and they both looked very pleased with them selves! Since then Animal Planet is marked Fav #1 on the remote and we will NEVER make that mistake again!:colbert:
