    Thanks everyone! I'm planning on using a slick finish... depending on how it goes on, I'll determine how many coats. I really want to leave it the color it is; I think it's really pretty and don't want to lose it beneath coats and coats of finish :)

    I've been talking to Rich from Reptile Basics about the size of flexwatt that would work best for this. He suggests 4" flexwatt on the shelves if I want belly heat and 11" flexwatt along the back for back heat (that's just for the baby tubs at the top... the bottom tubs will all have 11" belly heat).
