Re: Any Drum Corps fans?
I wish I had time to do it now. I was going to try for the marching band at OSU, but being an architecture major, there isn't any way that I could pull that off, much less with a company that does anything more than football games :P It would be amazing though!!
And I'm a huge band nerd. I will still stop and watch the band pratice when I can (I have to work during games so I don't get to see the real performances) and everytime I hear a band I just have to smile :D

Re: Any Drum Corps fans?
I was in one back in grade school/high school.
I played the Baritone Horn in a MA corps called 'The Kingsmen'
we never did anything big but it was fun.

Re: Any Drum Corps fans?
My Bethie drums with her high school band (the great big drum...okay someone help me out with the name of it please LOL). She's a freshman. She attended band camp this summer - can you believe I have a kid that actually went to band camp! The best part was when they went around asking the kids why they wanted to come to band camp. All the kids babbled on about learning and growing and yadda yadda.
Bethie pipes up and says..."so I can say....this one time...at band camp" HAHAHAHAHAHA
She's not so much into the drum corp thing yet. Right now it's all about cheerleading (she's a flyer) and watching that on tv. Personally I think drum corp would be safer than tossing my child into the air! ack!

I was a band nerd, too. No shame! :carrot:

Well, if you ever have any questions about it (or if she does), don't hesitate to ask.

Yeah, it was sometimes tough having no summers - it took me 5 yrs to get my bachelors because I did drum corps so couldn't do summer school. But it was totally worth it. They have shows in OK during the summer, you should go check them out. If a marching band makes you smile, wait until the first big hit of a corps; always gives me goose bumps!

Oh yeah, we definately toured with them a little bit when I was at Boston. Very cool!

It's a base drum ;) Watch out, she may decide she wants to do both!! Then you'll have a tossing - marching kid.
