    Actually that behavior sounds so familiar its uncanny. Murdoc has done it in the past and is probably doing it right now. Maybe its just an attempt to get that last eye-cap off, or I hope so. But I've seen him/her do it even when its not in shed. Not too sure if its a bad thing or a good thing. But it seems like the snake is enjoying it, and its not hurting anything.

    You may have missed the signs of it (unless you've seen the snake daily for the past week or so). I know sometimes RIGHT before mine sheds the skin doesn't appear too dull so I'll look around for the skin and when I don't find it I realize she hasn't quite shed yet. And the eyes clear up typically a few days before the actual shed. And it is ok to pick up your snake during shed, but typically they get stressed out easily (especially when their eyes are clouded over) since they can't see too well. I personally haven't had any problems with handling during shed, she won't strike, but I usually just leave her alone.
