Ok heres the thing.
My het pied male was a hisser and a fake striker when he was young. Now he is just a happy and never hisses or strikes.
My Het Red Axanthic hisses from time to time.
Now I have one a 1600 gram female, named appropriately "Hissy" and she hisses every time is open her tub, take her out, what ever.
so some do it some don't.

Course the king of the hissers are genus Pituophis. Such a big noise from such a little snake! :)

Re: Do BPs hiss?
my pastel female when i first got her let me know real quick how she felt about me, i mean she flattened out with all that air and gave me the meanest look and loudest hiss her little body could manage. it was hilarious.

Re: Do BPs hiss?
My female hisses if you look at her tank, and she strikes at just about anything and is always on guard, I went to go feed her yesterday and she saw the paper bag I drop the mouse out of each week and she just started striking at the air, was laughing my arse off. She hisses if I just open the lid to her tank to change out her water, I just roll my eyes and usually give her a rude comment, lol.
My male, he has only hissed once and it was when he was in full shed and there was no possible way he could see anything out of those eye caps, so I completely understood why he was scared, poor guy was in his hide, then all of a sudden its gone and he knows hes exposed.
My female just thinks shes hot stuff and rules the world...
