GUNS ARE BAD!
In my opinion anyone who has a gun that isn't being used to hurt during the season should be in jail.
I wonder why the US has a gun probably and Canada not as bad.
I know all handguns in Canada are illegal unless you have some crazy a** permit. And you can only use them at the shooting range and not for hunting.

i think what the cop was trying is to say is "you're wasting my time with a stupid situation like this" or in his mind he was thinking "aw man another argument".

This is the same dumb rational that has lead Canada to have one of the highest murder and violent crime rates in the world. (Australia who also bans citizens from protecting themselves has the highest). Your comment about the US having an issue and Canada not is just plain wrong...check your facts. Canada's per captia murder/violent crime rate is almost double the US's.

Guns don't kill people, people kill people. Even if guns are outlawed, criminals will still get there hands on them. That's why they are criminals. They didn't care enough about to law to follow it, so why not carry a firearm and ensure their get-away? It's impossible to successfully "outlaw" a problem, if guns become illegal, gun problems won't go away. Just like drugs. People will always have them, whether legally or illegally. However you can tighten restrictions on WHO can get firearms (such as known criminals, however this won't stop everyone though), but the best way to stop most firearm related instances is to teach gun safety/respect. I am the proud owner of many firearms, and until my dying day will exercise my right to own them.

Excellent Points.
I know some might be interested so here is a news paper article about the Canada vs. US crime rates and how Canada has tried to blame the US for their folly over gun control...they basically did it to themselves (sorry to all my Canadian friends that your government has put you at risk - but you are welcome to move down here)

I didnt say Canada does not have an issue... I said it is rated less then the US.
And I did what you said and went and checked my facts
This is the Murder rate per capita in the world
http://www.nationmaster.com/graph/cr...ers-per-capita
US is ranked #24
Canada is ranked #44
Columbia is 1st
This is the Murder rate per capita in the world BY GUNS
http://www.nationmaster.com/graph/cr...rms-per-capita
US is ranked #8
Canada is ranked #20
South Africa is 1st.
Admitting that you have a gun problem can be hard, but it's the first step to recovery. *jj*
But I was just wondering why such a big difference... it's not like we are devided by water or anything like that...
Guns should be available over here just as much over there.... well actually they shouldnt be, but you know what I mean!

The problem with the source you are looking at is that it is almost 10 years old (also the source is the UN which has been trying to get the US to ban guns so we too can become helpless - so I wouldn't put too much faith in their numbers). A lot has changed in that time including Canada banning handguns for its citizens. If you read the article I posted you will see the increase in crime (murder, sex assult, other violent crimes) is sky rocketting. Canada is now 50% (which means DOUBLE) the rate of the US in the past couple of years.
But don't worry you still have the vote so you can fix your country before it is too late - *GK* right back at ya!:D

Oh, c'mon... you can't criticize his data because it's from the UN but then use your reference from Newsmax. (Newsmax: "supported by a group of conservative investors") Besides, if the UN numbers were so skewed because they want the US to ban guns, don't you think they would have skewed it to place us more than 24th?
And at least he provided data. The newsmax article just references a gun proponent who cites some other columnist that supposedly has data. If you're going to criticize someones data, at least have your own to back it up.
