You might also see about having a friend in the states re-ship it for you. Have it shipped to them, then have them ship it to you.

As long as you mark "gift" on the customs form it won't be too much hassle.

Where in Ontario? Anywhere close to the US Border? You could drive across to one of those mail-boxes etc type places and see if you can work out a deal with them to have it delivered there, then go pick it up..
