So true. I have one 800 gram female who hates me to death. I will reach to the back of the tub to take the warm side temp with the ol temp gun and she usually looks like she is gonna tag me, but when i expect her too and i hesitate she latches on my forarm. She doesnt use hides either so i dont offer them to her, she's always lurking and waiting hahaha, but shes awesome.

I would just keep things in perspective. How bad could a baby BP hurt you really? They have tiny teeth that are meant for just holding onto prey, not ripping the prey to shreds. Getting tagged by one would be like having a pinprick or a papercut, more of an annoyance that actually hurting. I have had kittens and puppies scratch and bite in play that I am sure hurt more than what a baby BP could do. (As I have never been tagged by my BP I can't necesarily speak from experience.) And if its is the anticipation of the strike that scares you, they are incredibly quick when it comes to striking. I have heard stories of how people have gotten tagged and not even known it until they see the little drops of blood on their hand. I think alot of good advice has been given to you here. Just stay calm when handling your BP. Animals can sense fear and respond to it. Just start by holding your snake in very short increments of time, and as you and your snake both get more used to handling and can relax, then gradually lengthen the time. Good luck and there are worse things that happen than getting tagged by a BP. :)

I think that staying calm and relaxed, makes a difference when handling a snake. When you're nervous etc, the snake senses that and also becomes more tense

Baby balls are nippy. The more you work with and handle your snake as he grows, the more accustomed he'll become and he should calm down as he gets older.

Some don't but most, once they get past the hug worm stage, will settle down with handling.

    :)

Just keep in mind....if U own snakes, eventually you're gonna get tagged. But it's not as bad as it may seem. :D
