If you feed live, someone will say you should only do f/t.
If you feed mice, someone will say you should only feed rats.
If you have a glass tank, someone will say you should only use plastic tubs.
    Etc...etc...etc...

There's always something. The key is...glean information from people you feel you can trust, and of the myriad of different ways you learn you can do things, figure out what works best for you and your snake. My personal routine might not be a good fit for you....you might feed your snake differently than I feed mine....but that doesn't mean either of us are wrong.

Sorry, Judy. No rep points. It appears that I need to spread some around. I do want to say, though, that your post is one of the most PROFOUND that I have seen in quite a while! Waay too often I see people dead set that their way is the only right way. They really need to read your post!!!

Excellent post as always Jude! I think with ball pythons (as with most snake species) there are certain "givens"....that they are nocturnal, more easily stressed by over handling, etc. but in the end the keeper must make their own determinations of what works. Of course this determination should always be based solely on what is best for the snake, not for the keeper (things like keeping the snake inappropriately because the keeper doesn't understand this species) comes to mind.

In the end though you make adjustments sometimes almost on a snake to snake basis, or at least we do. What always works for one snake or one keeper, sometimes will not work in another situation (within common sense boundaries of course). I think we all need to be open minded and always looking to learn more for the benefit of these captive beauties. :)
