I don't see why the story albeit stretched in some aspects couldn't be real. The media almost always use their own descriptive words because that's what readers want to hear. While we know many animals would not specifically feed on a human its not far fetched that animals such as the gecko could have been feeding on the insects that had started in on the corpse. Its an easy detail to leave out to dress up such a story.

They might well have Heath. It's just typical though of what we call news today to hype everything, fill the time with as much gore as possible and stretch stories with either useless, stupid or plain wrong details just to fill a time slot on the endless 24 hour news (or online which is even worse sometimes).

It just makes me laugh that this would be such an OMG moment. You fall over dead and Fluffy the dog and Foo Foo the cat are going to eventually munch on you too. It might gross out us humans with our issues around death but for animals...it's a free meal and in my mind, not at all newsworthy other than for it's shock value.

I definitely agree, going public with such details is more than a little disrespectful.
