Thing is about frogs, is that they absorb things thru their skin so holding them can hurt or kill them. This includes the oil from humans skin. Personally I would not risk it. I do know a great frog breeder here in Ohio, he usually has red eyes and tiger legs if anyone is looking.

as stated several times handling frogs is storngly not recomended. This however does not make a frog a bad pet for a 4 year old. I own 5 froggies and they are very fun to watch. At times they are almost comical. It is very important when choosing a frog to choose a species that does not hide most of the day away. As long as your daughter knows that they are gunna be watch only pets, they could be very enjoyable for her as well as educating. You could talk about issues about rainforests and froggies and how they help keep us alive today.....Just my two cents:D
