Re: Rat Breeders - Where are you
I am close to Kingman, Golden Valley, Lake Havasu, Parker - Arizona. Also just across the bridge from Laughlin, Nevada - drive a little ways out another way and there's Needles, California, so I'm in the middle of many areas. :) I breed blacks, mostly. All forms of blacks. Hooded, capped, solid, berkshire, etc. I just started a fawn line, but not yet "there" in terms of litters and the like. There are other litters that I breed for no particular color, just for health. Absolutely NONE of my lines are inbred. I take notes on ALL litters, even just the prey item ones. I keep track of any health issues, any difficult deliveries, etc and ensure that no unhealthy animals are bred and any female that had any difficulty with a litter is immediately retired and upped to "pet" status.

I haven't had many chances to sell publically, but everyone that knows me, knows that I am a seller of my litters, too. I just do not know many people around me that has reptiles, or wants rats as pets. So, for now, I consider my breeding a private hobby, trying to get word out there that I'd like to turn it into a public hobby.
