Use a piece of vinyl flooring from Lowes or Home Depot. It works good in the bottom of my cages to keep the flexwatt dry. Very easy to clean and cheap.

what about that? not the best work/part of sealing, but the substrate would cover it up. I also laid a peice of aluminum in between the connections. I was careful not to connect touch the connections too.
    Do aluminum tape conduct electricity?

I just got the sheets...how would I set them up? Because the connections are in the way? anyone with pics would help a looot.

I couldnt find the glossy ones in a big size...sucks..
    Does it matter?

aluminum does, so I assume the tape does as well. I haven't used the tape before so I can't say for sure.

the edges aren't the problem its the whole area. the way flex works is it runs a current through an element which heats up cause of the current. if this get wet there is a high risk of electrocution. a water bowl spill, a little pee, even damp substrate. you need to have something covering the entire piece of flexwatt not just the edges. tile flooring linoleum flooring, plexiglas, anything.
