Re: First Successful Assist Feeding
Raul, I sure know that feeling. When little Darra finally ate independently after two assisted feeds Mike and I had to sneak out of our bedroom to high five out in the hallway lol. We're still having to help little Kennis but really hoping that she might try herself tonight. It's a real worry when they don't show any feeding response. :(
Re: First Successful Assist Feeding
Our hatchling BP (my wife bought at a pet store!) refused to eat for 5 weeks. We brought it to a friend who does reptile rescues. He said that snake was way too small to be sold and has never eaten!! He used to work at that pet store but quit over "policies". We assisted fed 3 times (fuzzies - 1 week apart). For the next feeding we dipped the head of a hopper in chicken broth. He took it!! This past week my wife fed him 2 hoppers (1 feeding) without a problem. We'll give him one more meal and then we will start handling him.
I thought he was a gonner!! His skin was getting baggy, but now he's looking great!! I'll post some pics in another thread maybe tonight.
