WOW, scammers!! Sucks big time. My boyfriend chris just got scammed by Silas Crawford of Appalachian Exotics, quite a bit of money. The most we've ever paid for a snake. Luckily he paid thru paypal, and a return is still pending. I guess its still under investigation by paypal. I love paypal, and be wary of anyone that only accepts money orders or western union!!

I was just going to ask about that. I assumed many of these purchases are through pay pal, so why not just make a claim. I thought it was possible to get your money back. I'm not that super familiar with paypal yet but I heard you could do it.

paypal is not always the best at getting money back. there have been some people around here that have used it and filed a claim only to lose the claim for stupid reasons.

i read this thread today while i was waiting for the thermocycler to finish my samples (2 hr+) and i sure helped pass the time. i just can't get by on how stupid that guy was....

If you read the thread about Silas, we have a pretty good case against this guy. So i'm not worried about not getting the money back.

Re: John Dumas And Pamela From Extreme Exotics Scam Scam
I, for one, am an example of probably many other people who get weary of buying snakes from small breeders after reading things liek this, thus hurting the reputation of future small time breeders hoping to make it good.

I have bought two snakes this way already. Once through KS, and once through Fauna. Unfortunately, and I'm not insulting anyone, it will probably be the last two times I ever do buy from online breeders unless they are super reputable or am well aquainted with on the BP.net forums. It seems like there are many scammers out there, and I was fortunate enough in my 2 purchases to not hit one of them, because it seems like the chances of running into trouble are just that big...

It's a very scary world out there. I work in the field of finance, and I see much of this stuff out there. But I expect to see stuff like that out there because there are many people who will do wonders to make a sale (ie. securities), but doing that with snakes, a living thing, is basically the same thing, with just a scary twist to it. Very sad.

i much rather meet find a breeder i like and see if he/she has something i am interested in, rather then look for ads and deals...
