cum on metallica is so challegend they couldn't come up with new album titles and had to use the title juvinle as it was reloaded. So straved for attetion and pennies they had to fight napstar. A good album or two in a style of music that's main claim to fame is how loud and or fast you can play your guitar give me a break still think it's funny they lost the first hard rock music award.

Yup. Mustaine and Burton (RIP) were the only musicians in Metallica...

Dave gave Metallica that great thrash sound they had on the early albums, while Cliff was truly the best (and worst) thing that ever happened to them.

Cliff in Megadeth... NOW that would have been metal.

The only thing Metallica had going for them at all (after Cliff and Dave) was Hetfield's voice (which was best on ...and justice for all and master of puppets), and even that sucks now too.

So I would say Metallica's first four albums > Megadeth > everything else > sucktallica (their name after ...and justice for all)

Anyone hear about Hetfield being 'detained' at a British airport because they thought he was a terrorist (...the beard)....ha hay...

Symphony of Destruction is one of my favorite rock songs ever!!

    I heard about that Daniel...

Anyway both of these bands are pretty much before my time seeing as I was raised on Country music, so they're not really my thing, but I do appreciate what they and other groundbreaking bands have done to change the world of music.

What's sad is how bad Slayer has become ever since Kerry has been the main write for the band now. It's always been about Jeff IMO. And when it comes to great playing I still think Forbidden (old school bay area thrash) blows 'Tallica out of the water.

I've never heard a more incorrect statement. The overwhelming majority of songs were written by Ulrich and Hetfield. Metallica wouldn't even exist without Hetfield's voice.

What? Mustaine didn't even play for any of the albums. He co-wrote 6 total songs, most of which appeared on Kill'em All. There's no question he had some influence, but the Metallica sound was all Ulrich and Hetfield :).

Totally agree... I think had that been a possibility Megadeth may have gotten bigger than Metallica.

I agree again... thrash metal singer that can't even scream. Of course, they haven't even been metal in years.

I think that sums it up perfectly.

in my humble opinion, even though i am a metallica fan, they would have been nothing without dave mustaine. Metallica's first two albums (with mustaine) were their best, after that it was a slow and steady decline. im gonna have to give this one to megadeth for the simple fact that they have never abandoned their roots...their METAL roots!

Yet the 6 songs Mustains co-wrote are the best tracks. Including my personal fave "Ride The Lightning".
