Ball Pythons and Drowning

I'm not sure if I have the large or extra large exoterra dish, looking at the pics on the exo terra website it's hard to tell. Either way - I need it because my big girl will topple over anything else I try to put in there, unless it's big and heavy, it'll be spilled.

My new little one is having lots of fun tipping over the small plastic dish I found for him, he crawls underneath it and pushes it over. I'll probably get an exoterra dish for him too :rolleyes:

I've recently switched from the exoterra dishes to the plastic plant saucers that are placed under potted plants to keep the water in. I'm having great success with those, and they're low profile enough they aren't bothered by my animals crawling over them..

We use the plain white ramekins found at any major department store and some dollar stores. They come in a ton of sizes, are heavy enough to not get flipped over and being pure white I can really make sure they are clean. They are also dishwasher safe for sterilizing. If I ever remember to get my butt over to the restaurant supply store I'm going to be getting a huge bag of disposable deli cups to make my life even easier! :)

I used one of those for about three yrs in my oldest bp's cage before I went to the rack and he never tiped it over and it worked great. It wasn't plastic but terra cotta and I would just clean w/ soap and water then virosan and rinse good.
But since the rack I have use 8 oz deli cups and life is wonderful. Just pop out and throw away and pop a new one in. I took one cup and put velco on the bottom of it and then velco on the bottom of the cage then I just pop another cup in and add water. No moving or tipping of the cup and that velco is like welded on the bottom of the tub. ( I use industrial velco which is made to use outside or in wet/humid. conditions)

Deli cups rock!

thats what i use, the are a dollar at pier one imports, and they are a little on the heavy side so they don't move around.

Believe me you will know the large vs extra large...extra large is HUGE!!!! like 2 times the size of large.
