    Very interesting thread!

Mine just spoke to me. I like fantasy and sci fi and this seemed to feel right. It is time for a change though . . .

I like mischief and anything silly, it keeps me down to Earth, I save the maturity for when I'm at work so for the internet a goofy avatar suits me best.

Oh heck Aleesha I change mine pretty much weekly if not daily LOL. Whatever strikes me as funny or sweet or goofy, maybe something seasonal or based on a holiday. I like variety. :)

goes with my mood, although mine is a close up of my redblood corn snakes profile at the moment. Probably time for a change as well. :D

I change mine often :) Now it is a photo of The Smiths, a band that I love. Next week it could feature Type O Negative or Slayer; I have an eclectic taste in music :)
I also use pics of my animals pretty often.

I'm also guilty of changing mine often, and my quotes.... This one is all about a good piece of yellow. AND, because I'm horriblely left handed *at least that's what I blame it on* My font hast to match my Avi! :) :)

OH MY! I just remembered how I couldn't even do an Avi when I joined... and Jo made one for me of Martini for me! *sniff*

    :grouphug: Squishy hugs for Jo!

Oh I love squishy hugs! :D Avatars are easy to make hon, if you ever need another made just let me know...only takes a moment or two. I'm forever making avatars (I really do need to get a life don't I). :)

Ok I have to admit I just have a stock Avatar *hangs head in shame*

Are there any freeware programs that will resize images? This seems to be my biggest issue...I suck at Photoshop so something simple would be best. Thanks

Sean for easy resizing and cropping I use this free program. It's very basic but it does the job nice, neat and quickly without a lot of needless buttons and whistles. It's the first one listed on this page, FastStone Image Viewer 3.2

    http://www.faststone.org/

To make avatars I use this free program. It's very easy just remember to set the parameters at 120 x 150 pixels as that's the limit for avatars on BPNet.

    http://www.jql.co.uk/avatarsizer.htm

Very easy, just browse the pic you want made into an avatar, resize it, save it where you want (I just drop it on to my desktop file for avatars), then upload it through the BPNet system and bingo...you've got yourself a nice custom avatar. :)
