I have a quick small question I'd like to ask without starting a new topic.

When you see the numbers '0.1' etc, what do they mean?

I know it's going to be so obvious to me soon...

The numbers tell the sex of the animal that you are talking about. So if someone posted

0.3.0 pastel => three female pastels
1.0.0 clown => one male clown
2.0.1 normals => two males and one unknown normals

It took me a while to figure that out, so it makes me feel a little better to see other people asking too!! Hope that helps! ^_^

Yay, I'm glad I made someone feel better! :D

Okay...so...the first number is the 'male' number, the second number is the 'female number' and the third is the 'unknown' number, correct?

Excactly. But when I first learned about what they meant i only knew what the male and female were so the third number got me pondering...

Re: Can someone explain what "Flames" are?
The abusive jerks I rescued my snake from said that she was female or they thought she was female...So, yeah. I'm getting her tested next week. My 'she' might be a 'he.' I put off getting her tested because I was in the middle of moving to a new apartment, but now that I'm thinking about getting another one I need to know.

Another dumb question I've been wondering - Is there a way to learn or become certified on telling your snake's gender like vets do? I know they probe them and I was just curious. *shrugs* I would never, ever attempt it myself unless I took a formal course or something. (Just to assure everyone! lol)

    Hi,

If you ask the vets they might be prepared to teach you. :)

There's no cerficiation per se just experience and that's best gained by learning from a pro. Popping and probing are just skills that you develop and get better at with practise. Having an experienced vet, a breeder or a hobbyist show you the ropes hands on is the best way.
