Re: what to do with meds??
They are prescription medications and should only be used as per the prescription directions. I would return them to the vet so they can either use them or dispose of them properly. Giving them to someone could possibly cause harm to their animal(if they injected the baytril in the vein, yay for tissue sloughing).
Giving them to a reptile rescue, as Jo said, is an ok idea. They would be able to get with their veterinarian and make sure they are using the medication correctly. Just be careful transporting the meds and make sure the Baytril is kept out of the light.
Re: what to do with meds??
i work in a pharmacy. you can't get in trouble for donating them to a shelter or anything like that. (that would only be for narcotics, stimulants, etc.) but, i would doubt very much that a shelter would accept them. by law, at the pharmacy, once a prescription leaves the store, we cannot accept it back unless it's just to dispose of. the reason for this is, we have no idea if it's been tampered with. would you feel comfortable taking an rx that you know somebody had before you? for all the shelter knows, you could be one of those people that hates snakes with a horrible passion and have replaced the meds with poison. you never know....
you never said how old the meds are. if they're over a year old, unless there's a printed exp. date on them, toss 'em!

the Baytril has a March 09 expiration date, the Fortaz has a August 07
Re: what to do with meds??
if they're still in the original packaging, you might be able to donate the baytril but the fortaz is probably too short dated. it's worth a try right?
