Whoa...snazzy hide!!! You are very talented! I hope the Pied-on-the-Hide has a better temper than its model...one of the most uppity snakes I've ever met. Eats like a champ & is a rapist to boot, so I guess it evens out in the end. ;)

What kind of paint did you use? :D

    Thanks everybody! *grin*

Yes, the Pied-on-the-Hide is MUCH better tempered than the model sounds...stays nice and still and lets me pet it as much as I want. :P But she's a gorgeous little pied from her pic!

Just common acrylic...it's nontoxic and water-based, so I cover the hide while misting to keep it from running, but the stuff's harmless. Not that I've swallowed any on accident before...*cough* But I didn't paint the inside, just in case, because I didn't want her rubbing against it to shed, in case it would bother her. I'm watching her really close to make sure it doesn't harm her--but so far she seems just fine...And she likes the hide!! (which is really what had me relieved, lol! I swear she gave me this, "what the heck is this?" look when I put it in!)
