Re: So if I get another leo...
Also, the problem with having just one male and one female together, he will breed, breed, breed and breed more and it will end up stressing the female out and I have read that people have had females die due to the stress on their bodies.

So its best that you have a second setup anyway to split them up so she can have a break.

Keep in mind also that some females also will fight. I had two females that would beat the tails off of each other. One was very aggressive and the other was a... well pansy. I had to seperate them. Unfortunately I didn't know any better when I first bought them, so I had to go and spend another $100 for another setup.

very good points kristy. females don't always get along--it just depends on the geckos and yes, you do still have to separate males and females for about half of the year in order to give each a break.

He doesn't NEED a friend. If you want another leo, why not just get another one and set it up in its own home? As already noted, even if you're willing to take on the responsibility of breeding a pair, you still need to be able to provide separate housing.....

So...don't think you need to get another leo for your leo....you don't. Get one for yourself, if you want, but get it its own home. Nothing screwy about that at all. ;)

ok maybe I won't get another leo...but now I've got my 25 gal out and all cleaned up, what should I put in it? I wanted a beardie (I know 25 gal isn't enough for an adult beardie) but I don't like how much they eat, and the variety of things they eat, so thats out. I'm for a snake or lizard, help me decide!

Ya juvie beardies can eat a LOT. sometimes up to 50+ crix per feeding. I agree with the corn snake suggestion. Or if you already have a small plastic container, you could get another BP :D Just my :2cent:
