Hand sanitizer is a must at a show. In fact, some show promoters (Orlando FIRE) give each vendor a bottle for their table!
Some breeders are also talking about not bringing snakes that aren't for sale to the show because of the chance of catching something. :(

Yes there was an incident as few years ago with an importer/breeder call big daddy that spread IBD at a three day long show. It was this whole huge stink loads of animals ended up dieing after they were brought home. Even some that he didn't sale.
Any breeder worth their salt will have sanitizer and insist you use it. it keeps their animals safe.

I don't deny that Belcher is a world class scumbag but I would think IBD spreading through a show is remote. Any links to this story? IBD isn't airborne. So it would have had to spread through direct contact (such as shared water) or possibly through mites. Sanitizer wouldn't have done a thing to stop that. I know a ton of breeders that don't allow their animals to be handled. I don't blame them

Last year's' NARBC, my friend was handling a ball-python, and it had ticks on it! Be careful and sanitize!
