If you didn't try him while he was in shed last time then I would say try it but don't be concerned or bummed out if he refuses. Remember if he is shedding it's time to make sure the humidity is boosted to around the 60-70% mark to help him.

Just keep a closer eye on him for a couple of days to see if he starts to get the cloudy appearance and slightly darkening colours that mean he's shedding - because of course he may just be having a bad scale day.:P

Have you made any drastic changes to his setup (substrate switch, hides, heat)? If so that could be whats making him snappy, or maybe overhandling. Otherwise could be the start of a shed cycle. In a day or two even without getting right up close to him you will be able to tell he is going to shed... As stated earlier it doesnt hurt to try and feed him during shed. Whats his current weight? Just curious. Oh p.s. I would suggest (if you havent already) to cover three sides of his cage with black construction paper, so he feels a little more secure and safe. It really will make him feel more comfortable.... :colbert2:

Hey; some of mine have that iridescence all of the time. it is pretty normal. It actually irritates me when i am trying to ge a clear macro shot of my pastel and his head is all shiny. Example: purply color atop his head.

They will sometimes get irritable. They are animals, not statues :) Has anything in your husbandry changed, or is he wanting a meal?

Yup, I would imagine little Dartanian is just moody right now and you'll get your lax bp back as soon as he gets some new clothes on.

btw, I recommend getting firefox. it beats out ie when it comes to browser ability and option, and also has a built in spell check feature!
