Re: That was stupid of me.
Don't wait or that will be your ummm 5th? mistake. I dont' know how much you know about car interiors but its not so sealed as it appears. Your snake is most likely behind the seats or up under the dash.
You need to start pulling panels off and figure out how to pull the seats. If that doesn't work try the dash. Look in the trunk and under the spare tire.
If you don't know how to do all of this you should find a mechanic who's not scared of snakes and get him to do it ASAP - otherwise you are giving your snake away.
But - I guess one thing you could try before all of that is baiting. There are some schemes around for how to do it best. The fact that you just fed your snake is both good and bad here. Its bad because the baiting might not work and its good because they tend to be less active when they aren't hungry.
Re: That was stupid of me.
My post was completly serious, First off look online on how to remove the dash. DO this QUICK dont wait a week and then do it, because odds are there a rubber grommet holes, he can get out and thru the firewall. If he's not under the dash, then I would start taking off door panels yes Door panel's you'd be surprised. Then I'd remove the back seat completly. Odd's are if you dont find him there, then he escaped alreadyl. Just trying to give you some tips, no critisism in any way.
Re: That was stupid of me.
agreed and I must stress that if you don't know what you're doing (i.e. don't work on cars) then go to a mechanic. Depending on his size and the manufacture of the vehicle he may be able to escape through the firewall or trunk. And don't forget the air-ducts. There is almost certainly a passage way out big enough for any ball. Using my old celica as an example, he could easily be in the debris catch of your vent fan. Which brings up another point - you are risking the snake if you drive the car. If you must drive it:
1) Do the best check you can under the hood.
2) don't use the air conditioner or heater or fan.
3) Don't adjust the seats - ujnless you're looking for him and then do it very carefully and only while you are watching underneath the seat at the same time.
4) Don't drive fast and avoid driving very far.
Glove box - it may be accessible from the back.
In the mean-time, try baiting and putting a heating pad on low heat in the car and put a hide over the top of it.
Re: That was stupid of me.

Re: That was stupid of me.
Yeah, sorry I totally was about to say, that feeding inside the tank isnt a mistake. I feed all my snakes in their enclosures, and tons of people do it.
