Pre-contest Contest! (POTM Themes)

Not to ruin anyone's idea or anything, but I feel by having a photoshop one is leaving some people out of the contest. I don't have photoshop and would like to still join the contest. I dunno I guess I feel everyone should have an equal chance at entering the contest. But if you do have a photoshop one I won't complain anymore. Cause once I get photoshop, I'll be suggesting a photoshop theme then too. Just thought I'd give my two cents.

It doesn't have to be the brand "Photoshop"....any editing program anyone wants to use is fine. It's just that "photoshop" has become the common verb for editing images to alter their original appearance.

And there's always gonna be someone left out of any of the contests. Not everyone has a ball python...or not everyone has other herps besides balls....not everyone had a visible morph to participate in May's POTM contest.

That's one reason why we've gone with a Photo of the Month contest, so we can rotate themes on a monthly basis and give as many people as possible a chance to get in on the fun. But heck...not everyone has a digi camera and the ability to upload digital images. :P

I would Love a Photoshop contest! My fingers are itchin' thinking about it.

Would the Wildlife category include zoo animals?

I like the idea of wildlife, but I think I voted for pets as I have enough of them and I could always use another excuse to take pictures of them. Maybe in another month or two we could consider doing pictures of pets IN nature!

Judy is this a poll that will determine the topic for the next 4 months? which ever one is voted first place is the contest next month, second place comes the month after, 3rd the month after that, etc....?

How about a theme like "Herp Art" where people can submit their drawings, paintings, etc of Herps...

No...just shots of animals taken in their natural environment. It doesn't necessarily have to be a "wild" environment....birds in your own yard would be fine, for instance.

I think we'll have a future zoo theme though....'cause I know we have some amazing zoo shots already. :D
