He also said any holes added don't add to the front or rear of the tubs but along the sides.
Thats kind of odd, I always put air holes on the front and back and never on the sides. I wonder why the sides would be better?

I didn't ask but I would guess holes in the front would pickup room air ie drafts better than on the sides. If your temps and humidity is right then I don't think it really matters.
As for the regurge thing eating up oxygen I guess that is something to consider. I wonder if your tub is 17" wide and 35" long and you have between a 1/6th of an inch and 1/8th of an inch all way around the tub for air how that would be in equal to how many holes drilled saying they where 1/4" holes
( somebody has to be way better @ math then myself)??
Re: Tubs, holes or no holes?
If you have a 1/16 or 1/8 gap that is enough for proper air flow, In my situation the humidity is about 80% with no holes and just the gap. So I add holes between 1-1.5 inches from the top of the tub.
First i space them 3 inches apart, still high humidity. So i start to fill in the 3 inch gaps with more holes etc etc till i got 50ish%. My home is a constant 77 degrees so it doesnt affect the ambient temps in the tub.

This happened to a friend of mine on the way to the FL show.....one small hatchling regurged in its cup and he lost like 200 snakes on the way there. They were all deli cupped inside a large rubbermaid. Sad Sad Sad.......
Wow! Why would a regurge of one hatchling kill 200 other snakes if they are in separate deli cups? I'm at a loss here. (Sorry for the hijack)

You know, I was wondering about that too... Doesn't make sense at all. On the other hand, it WOULD make sense that something else (like overheating) killed all the snakes and which also happened to caused one of them to regurgitate.

Or the fact that they were all in a cooler (that was sealed) and suffocated.
It is unlikely a hatchling regurge would kill anything unless it did so via an acid burn or via bacteria but that would take significant time for enough to build up to be toxic to a health animal (I am also not sure how a dead animal uses up all the oxygen in a given container anyway?)

Sounds a little strange to me too. :rolleye2:
