    I would stress to your family that this snake is YOUR sole responsibility, you're the one working and researching to learn to care for it properly and that their interference and allowing the cats access to it could continue to cause it stress which will result in refusals and eventually it could well sicken and die. Remind them this is not a kitty or a puppy and they need your permission to handle it so that you know it's handled appropriately and it's enclosure properly secured afterwards (or it may well escape).

    Now some questions. Where did you get this baby? Had it never been fed when you purchased it? What's it's enclosure set up like?

    Ive told them that holding them will help reset the feeding problem. they just dont care I guess....
