Re: Pet Shop Reviewing/Reporting
I don't know of any breeders in Atlanta (yet - with any luck, there will be two new ones next year - myself and Deborah). Oh wait, I'm sorry - there is one.
Albey's http://www.albeysreptiles.com
You could also try to contact Justin Kobylka and he might be able to meet you in Atlanta:

I have met Albey at a show, but I have not done business with him.
I have met and purchased from Justin.

Heh, I'll never buy a live animal from PetCo. The ones I've seen have pretty pitiful reptile habitats, and the employees I've talked to don't seem to know much. In fact, when I was there buying hides for Auryn a few months ago, I was informed by the woman at the register (who said she'd been feeding the BPs for a few years) that her daughter's BP ate ONLY goldfish--out of a water dish. It died after a few years, apparently--but she SWORE that she saw the BP eat the goldfish...and that it was the only thing her daughter's BP would eat. Yep.

Well, their BP's were set up better the Petsmart. But like Petsmart, no one their had a clue about them. Their price: $59.

I was going to make a new thread, but I figured I'd post this here.
Today I went to Pet Supplies "Plus." Everything looked alright.... till I got the the reptile section. There was a huge tank with one BP in it. No hides, just a huge water bowl and a little piece of driftwood. There were no heating pads, thermometers, or heat bulbs. Just a very bright fluorescent strip at the top. The poor BP was cowered under the small piece of wood. He fortunately didn't appear to have mites or an RI... poor little guy. :( There was also an EXTREMELY overpopulated mouse tank(there were easily 500 in there) and a scared little sugar glider. They're nocturnal, but his tank had another huge fluorescent bulb in it. He was hanging to one of the walls and shaking. :(

The only other thing she probably offered it was those damned sausages. If it got hungry enough and saw movement I suppose it's not inconceivable it would strike and eat a fish - though I'd die of shame if one of mine felt reduced to that.:sabduel:
A customer in the old shop once told us her cornsnake had eaten a chip with ketchup on it - she wanted to know if we thought that would be a suitable diet for it.

What about tallahassee...there is a place called carols critters and they sell bp babies for like $65 in really good condition.
