Thanks everyone. I'll be speaking with his mom this weekend and am getting all the information so my family can write to him and send things. Does anyone know an online source where I can find out how to ship things over there and what's allowed or advised to send him (I'm thinking hygiene products, snacks that won't rot, and of course letters and cards).

I know that being a Marine has always been Ryan's dream. I remember him going on about wanting to be a Seal one day. This is all he's ever wanted, all through high school, so I hope and pray this was the right decision for him to make. I'll ask his mom if it's okay to post his information here before I do, as I want to always respect his family's privacy first but I thank you all for your concern and willingness to reach out to this young man doing his best for this country. You people rock!

My thoughts and prayers go out to Ryan and all of our other Military personnel. My son will be going back for his second tour in Iraq in August.

    Hello All,

I will keep Ryan in my thoughts with all of the other service men and women. I don't know if this is ok, but here is a website for a retailer of military equipment - Brigade Quartermasters. They also arrange care packages of their products to be sent overseas. They have special "packages" of the really needed stuff that a soldier uses on a daily basis. Check them out:

God's blessing on all our troops and a wish for a speedy end to the conflict.:salute:

Another tour? Pray this is over soon. I hate that any of them have to keep going back into that place. Thank you for that link, I'll definitely check it out. :)
