You can get a foot of 11" flexwatt, wired, for well under $20 from places like ReptileBasics. This heat tape functions better than any "pet store" heat pad. Don't be fooled into thinking just because Zoo Med says their heat pads are made specifically for reptiles, that they work better...

i have a friend at petco who gets me good deals on things, i get most of the stuff for cheap. i have tons of stuff lying around from having all the tarantulas so i know how to be cheap with them, i know what to look out for at pet stores.
and i would love to see more examples from where you have shoped, i'm terrible at finding good sites on the internet

i looked at some of that today.. it looks like you have to know what you're doing with it though.. i feel that even if it was easy to set up i would still be able to find a way to burn my house down
