Re: My Wittle Crestie!! (DUW)
cute new addition! congrats. :gj:
that enclosure is a bit big for a young crested so make sure he is finding his food okay. also, what exactly is reptile-life crested gecko diet? i've not heard of that before.
the leaves--interesting yes, but not what you think. :) i forget exactly what kind of vine it is that they are modeled after, but they are commonly sold in pet stores.
Re: My Wittle Crestie!! (DUW)
Thank you thank you! Yeah found the leaves at petsmart.
Anyways..I will definatley try make sure he is finding his food ok. Repi-Life is made by the Bug Company.

Also if he is not interested in the foods I am giving him should I try a mixture of CGD and baby food? What kinds of baby food would you guys suggest? And besides crickets can they eat like silkworms and butterworms?

Re: My Wittle Crestie!! (DUW)
honestly i'd ditch the repti-life stuff from the bug company. the ingredient list doesn't look like it is something that was even formulated with cresteds or any other rhacs in mind. the first ingredient it corn--cresteds don't eat corn and corn is basically just cheap filler. some pretty highly reputable breeders were sent samples of this stuff from the bug company in hopes that they would try it, love it and then recommend it. some of the breeders refused to even try it based on the ingredients. some did, mostly with the same report--their geckos wouldn't touch it.
anyhow, stick with the repashy crested gecko diet. if he has been raised on that he should take it plain just fine. give him a week or two to settle in and start eating it before you try mixing anything else in.
other than crickets they can eat phoenix worms, silkworms and feeder roaches. i'm not sure about butterworms--they might be okay as an occasional treats like wax worms.
Re: My Wittle Crestie!! (DUW)
I would sugest mixing a little bit of baby food in with the CGD only if its not eating it. try and use less amounts of baby food every feeding until its eat 100% CGD. I use peaches or apricot and mixed fruit as they like that. if it is not eating good and starts to look skinny, give a feeding of all baby food to plump it up and get it going in the right direction. a small bowl of fresh water and daily mistings are important, a diet of only baby food is not good. Good Luck :sweeet:
Re: My Wittle Crestie!! (DUW)
Awesome you guys thanks a bunch! I will ditch the other diet! I will only use baby food if I have to and will use a little amount only to stimulate him to eat if he is refusing the CGD.
I already want a another one!! And I have an empty 10 gallon sitting around....not good!
Lol keep you guys updated.
