i also think... depending on the amount of energy a parent puts into the whole episode depends on how much 'harm' it causes.

if the parents go on and on about it endlessly to everyone who listens or gets too detailed into explaining the program to the child... that's where the longer term effects happen.

if the parent acts like it's no big deal and let's the child's own feelings etc be their own... then often they forget about the incident quickly.

but every child is different and comes from a different enviroment which will cause their experience to be uniquely theirs.

edited to add: of course the actual video shown makes a difference as well. some 'shots' (no pun intended) would be more detrimental than others.

Well...I did tell my now 13 year old son when he was about 4 and I was pregnant that the storks bring the babies. Just as a joke. He came to me one day (after I had Cait) and asked if I would have another baby and "ask" for a boy. I told him I couldn't have anymore kids and he asked why not so I told him that I never paid for Caitlin (the youngest) and so the stork won't let me get any more babies. So now everytime he gets mad t his sisters he will say..."Mom, can't you PLEEEEEASE pay the stork so he will bring me a brother!" lol.

He suffers from middle child syndrome and the infamous "2 sister blues". lol

It's funny stuff folks...I mean in this day an age you either have parents that dont tell their kids a thing about the deed until way way older or parents that dont hide it at any age and use age appropriate talk to help their kids understand...I mean I would be slightly upset..being Raigen saw to people kissing on T.V...and not the pop kisses she gets...so yeah she now comes at you for a kiss with her mouth wide open *sighs* I ignore it or have said "That's the way mama's and daddys kiss...or mommys and mommys...or daddys and daddys...ah hell" LOL. She doesnt understand what an adult is yet....So yeah I wouldnt go as far as calling up and screaming at them...in this day in age sex is either hidden to much and not talked about openly with our children or its taken to the the extreme opposite...I'm working on that happy medium.
