If your snake is so fat that you can see skin between the scales....you've got a problem and should cut back on the feeding. But you should not expect your snake to feel like a body builder's bicep or six-pack.

growing snakes generally go through such changes between sheds. Right after they shed you should be able to feel some extra skin (so the snake can stretch with it's meals), but the closer it gets to the shed the more dense your snake will probably feel as the skin gets too small for its growing body. Don't worry this is normal.

my ball seems stronger and more defined then others I have seen. The reason behind this I think is all night she tries to get out of her cage constantly pushing hard against the screen top. This has got to be helping her build muscle.

Easy! All of my snakes work out!

    Picture ;-)

No honestly, take everyone's advice. Too loose skin could be a sign of dehydration, if you're sure it's not dehydrated I'm not really sure what to tell you other then to let a vet see him and ask the vet about it.

Ball Pythons and ground dwelling pythons in general tend to be heavy body constrictors. Meaning they want have that "Spring steel" feeling like a Boa or arboreal species of snake. Ball should have a nice rounded triangular shape to them unlike bloods that have huge wide body's. Boas tend to be more squared off in body structure. So if your expecting your ball to have the trim firm look and feel of a boa...It'll never happen. Feed them right and keep them healthy and you'll be all good no snake cardio is needed.

    Hope this helps

Darn, I had hope that Fluffy could compete in the BP triathalon! He has a perfect rounded triangular body. I'm trying to get my body more triangular!!!!!
