He's beautiful and quite a change since the previous picture. That second recent pic of him is really good.

Thanks to all. He is a real great animal. How someone could have treated him way he was for the first 6 years of his life is beyond me. In just under a year I have turned his whole life around all the way to a custom made enclosure that my daughter and i built for him. Now he acts like a typical burm, I don't mess with him around shed time (he gets grumpy). He always seems to be hungry yet his weight stays the same (he could probably use another 5lbs or so). I just changed his feeding schedule from every ten days to every two weeks, by about the 12th day he is going nuts so I may go to every 12 days instead of two weeks. His weight increased nicely on a 10 day schedule with one extra prey item. Now I want to maintain the weight and add very little. He does have cage aggression so it is not recommended to stick your hand in the cookie jar. I have to hook him (his upper body) above the level of the enclosure then I can pick him up. I am really happy with the way he is coming around, I am using him in an outreach at my daughters school next month.

Even if he does not "love" you, he does know you.

You did rescue him, you have fed him, watered him, and all good things that he gets, water, food, hides, smell faintly like you. Even when his poo disappears, in the spot where it was, he smells you. You are familiar and safe. I think that passes for snake love.
