maybe by then we will be deaf as door nails and cant hear a thing so it wont bother us at all.oh yeah, the worse thing about tinitus is that theres no cure.i took 6 courses of anti-biotics for it when i was a kid(3 were tablets and 2 were drops) and it did nothin.

Check out Maxalt or Imitrex. They both work, but I've been taking Maxalt for years with great results.

I had/have the same problems. my nosebleeds stopped when i was about 20, though the ringing and pressure behind the eyes still happens. ask your doc about "Meiners disease". runs in my family unfortunately. causes the ringing in the ears, fluid buildup, LOTS of ear infections as a kid, and can (and in my case IS) lead to hearing loss, and extreme vertigo. I get so dizzy sometimes I cant even get comfort by laying in bed...the whole darn room spins and I KNOW I'm not drunk this time :)

I'll spare you my medical misery list unless you ask, but suffice it to say when I had my first back surgery, my doc told me I had the body of a 65 year old...I was 24. if you want the whole list, ask, otherwise I wont make everyone sit through my ailments lol

totally forgot to post my reply about the migraines. hehe

I have been getting them for about 15 years or so now, and some get so bad I have ended up in the ER getting a shot of morphine.

my sister has VERy severe migraines and takes Imitrex and swears by it. I was put on vicodan, verapimil, which is used mostly for high blood pressure but also works for migraines, and then sometimes on top of that I would take excedrin

I get em pretty bad. I have tried maxalt, and it works well.

I was also on depekote for a while (an anti seizure medication) because my dr thought I was bi-polar. That drug helps with seizures, bipolar disorder, and migrains I guess. I did not get one migrain while I was on it. I wouldnt wonder if that is what your friend is on Becky.

I know how bad they can be. I get em and I have to sit in the darkest room possible with my head down and just wait the buggers out.

Strangley enough, throwing up does seem to help.

Anywho, good luck finding something that works...

edit: (if you are looking something non-perscription, try excedrin migrain)

omg! This is a great thread. I have been suffering from migraines since I was a teen. I have gone to MANY doctors. About 5 years ago I went to this one doctor in hopes he would have the answers I need! He told me to stop taking ibuprofin because I was taking enough that it could be lethal! I was taking 8 pills at a time at least 4-5 times a day!!! I am telling you my head HURT! So he put me on all these meds...muscle relaxers...narcotics..anti seizure meds...anti-depressants...you name it! I had a pharmacy on my nightstand! well, he sent me to get all these tests run..MRI, CT, x-rays even therapy! Nothing! I found out I have TMJ...which was some of the problem but from where my headaches were that could not be the total problem. well, needless to say I started taking the pills like crazy to get rid of the headaches! I finally went to a Doctor and he said I was suffering from rebound headaches from all the meds I was taking! So they wanted to put me in the hospital and detox me but I did not go for that! I have 3 kids, a hubby, and a house to run! So I took it upon myself to go off the pills. and though I still have migraines, they are not as often or as bad. Now If I get one I go to a dark, quiet room and I take a cold compress and lay it on the part of my head that hurts the most. I may have to pop a couple tylenol but that is way better than the bagillion pills I was taking! I think stress is a major factor in headaches/migraines also. I stopped letting the "little stuff" get to me. And it helps ALOT!

on a side note...I took imitrex once. My doctor said it shouldn't bother me too much. Well, it did! I could not even see straight! They think I had a major reaction to it! So I will not take that again!

Topomax is a anti seizure med that I was on and it does help. but it will also make you lose weight.

I woke up with a killer headache this morning :(

Knock on wood - I've only had one migraine in my life, and hope I never have another one. I had just flown back home, Karl picked me up at night and let's say it's a good thing he was driving, the headlights coming from the opposite direction would have killed me - I got to at least close my eyes and told him not to even talk, just get me home.
