ACK! Good luck getting those spiders! Hopefully they will show up soon!

A friend of mine just went though something like this a few months back! I know he found all kinds of info on the USPS website. I'm trying to find it all right now. It was a good bit of information on what can and can not be shipped and if you are found to be shipping or receiving something prohibited, they can with hold the material and turn it over to the authorities, etc.

Receiving an item is a felony? That seems kind of odd.

The Patriot Act made shipping or receiving any thing the government says is prohibited via the USPS a Class 1 Felony. Whether they peruse charges might depend on how big of a problem you make for them..

You might want to get with the shipper (if the spider dies or isn't released to you) and tell them that since they shipped via a carrier that prohibits this type of package they are responsible for replacement, refund of shipping charges and demand that they ship via an exceptable carrier or refund your money.

That's it... I'm cancelling my subscription to Osama Quarterly. :8: It still seems incredible that you could be charged with receiving something in the mail. Sounds like a good way to get blackmailed (pun intended).

Which is why I don't sign for registered mail at the office or at home from people I don't know.

Sounds to me the shipper should be questioned here. If the spider doesn't make the trip, I would have huge complained with the person you bought spider from. My :2cent:
