Re: Meet Loopy! ***DUW****
May be not IBD that is the signs of a "Train Wreck Spinner" its more common in spiders but ...boy and girls thats what a really bad spinner does
Re: Meet Loopy! ***DUW****
Sweet looking snake Allison. :sweeet: I'm glad you were able to give him a loving home. :sunny:
Re: Meet Loopy! ***DUW****
he's so sweet!! I'm glad he has someone to take care of him and love him and all his quirks. ^_^ Your awsome, and so it little Loopy!!
Re: Meet Loopy! ***DUW****
Awww...Allison! I'm so glad Loopy's living with you--he really does have such a sweet face.
It's really neat that he has adapted to his disability, and I'm so glad that's he's thriving in your care :)
Definitely keep us posted and give us LOTS of pictures of Loopy!
Re: Meet Loopy! ***DUW****
I can totally understnd why you adopted him.:)
He has some kick ass flames as well - which leads to my dumb-*ss question.
Is this a problem that will definately be passed onto any offspring and means that he couldn't be bred?
How did the poor wee beastie end up like this anyway? Is it just blind chance?

Re: Meet Loopy! ***DUW****
Derek,
As for him being a horrible spinner and that being genetic, I personally do not know. I was told that sometimes it happens. Maybe someone else who knows more about spinning and breeding can chime in?
BUT I would think if it was genetic and passed down then his siblings would also have this problem. His siblings are all just fine and normal. He was the only one out of that clutch like that. I know who his parents, grandparents, great grandparents, etc are. From what I was told it's just a one of those freak things that pops every once in a while. Just like weird things happen to human babies when they are born with deformities and disabilities... but their parents are completely normal and healthy.

It's very neat! He uses his tail alot as a prop to help him hold his head from wobbling back and forth...

I'm glad he is use to being handled a lot and put's up with being moved around and put in to odd positions. I just weighed him and he weighs a whole 195grams. WOOHOO!
Okay now I must leave him be for a week!
Man is that going to be hard!
Re: Meet Loopy! ***DUW****
Yeah, that is really neat how he makes the best of his situation.
Re: Meet Loopy! ***DUW****
I'm just amazed how he's so quickly adapted to using his other body parts to control the action of his head and getting a bad spin going on! Go Loopy! I'm so glad you've committed to him and giving him the best quality of life possible for this lovely snake. :)
