    well her belly is super super pink now so hopefully shell be shedding soon. and i put my male back in with her and this morning before work i noticed him "trying" again and they did lock up but sometimes when they appear locked up, their cloacas dont even line up like the little guy is wayyyy off. well anyways i hope she took cause i want some babies and i want to be knowledgable (sp.) for next season with my pastels

    I have a few questions....

    I thought that a male and female will no longer show interest in breeding - hence no lock - if the female is gravid. IF this is the case, and they were locking up until just yesterday, there is no way this is a POS shed?

    i have no clue this is the first time ive ever bred ball pythons or anything for that matter... i was just hoping it was pos. then again maybe i was wrong and it wasnt even a lock i saw today. he hasnt shoed interest in her for at least a a couple days so i duno well see what happens. if she is gravid ill be happier than ever and if not well there is always next year :(

    I'm new to this as well, but I'd have to agree with your assessment. It's possible it's a PRE ovulation shed... maybe?

    i just talked to a couple people that have been breeding snakes for a while and they said that the male will still try to lock up because well hes a male. they said even after the POS he will still maybe try to lock up some males have and some males have not shown this behavior

    I would just keep trying! Don't get discouraged, and im sorry - i was a little insensitive. I didnt mean to rain on your parade and give you doubts.
