    I wouldnt go that far, beardies require much more room,heat,lighting,food, and overall more constant care. A leopard gecko,fat tail gecko,or even a crested gecko would be a better choice for a first lizard.

    bearded dragon. i love mine and they are easy to care for. i have about 25 eggs in the incubator right now.

    uromastyx are also great pets but require high temps of about 110 degrees in the day also very friendly and like to be held.

    but like the others said beardies leos and cresteds are also great choices

    Personally I'd say Blue Tongue Skinks. They're a good size, They don't move that fast, they're curious and of course they got that blue tongue that's pretty cool. They CAN be little poop cannons but then again a lot of lizards could claim that, and once they're empty they're pretty easy.
