If he refuses the second, don't offer it again until a week from today. Be prepared to offer food and water and house the second mouse for an entire week.

Make sure your prepared to cleaning out the Rat home...they are gross and smelly.

O and be sure to take the food that it doesnt eat out. The food rots pretty quickly with them and it will start to mold and yeah just get rid of it quick.

If you are feeding a standard lab block/dry seed/nut mix to the mice and you use a water bottle and keep a clean enclosure, there's no reason for any food to be going moldy or rotting all that quickly.
