Don't think there's much to say about the effects of tobacco or any other kind of smoke... If you don't want to be around it and breathe it, and there are multiple health warnings about the dangers of such to YOU, will an animal many times smaller than you be okay with it? I think not.
Maybe your roommate could smoke outside?
