Well, I only have the one tub, so measuring for multiple tubs isn't an issue for me. If it were, I'd probably set up differently. It sounded like the OP was only working with one tub as well...which is why I spoke up about my setup.

I understand the t-stat and thermometer could be off from each other by a couple degrees. I'm actually quite confident and comfortable with how my t-stat is working now. (JC brand) I just keep the thermometer probe in there with it so I have something to check. And actually...when the snake is IN the warm-side hide...the temps tend to go UP a couple of degrees, rather than down.

I tested my little scotch-tape theory pretty extensively before putting it inside the enclosure. Even soaking wet, that tape does NOT come off that paper. Every time I clean the tub and change the paper, the whole piece tears away with the paper...they never separate.

I agree that 99% of the time, the thought of tape inside a snake's enclosure is just asking for trouble. But this is one of those rare instances where I do believe it really works...just a tiny piece of scotch-tape on the paper substrate. ;)

Sounds like a solid setup for one tub.
