I agree - I know that Boston is not too far from their facility, as I plan to make a trip there and am flying into Boston.
You know that you'll get a quality animal with a great breeder (one of the best) to support you with any questions for the life of the animal!
Re: First timer, I would greatly appreciate some help with my first purchase.
NERD is THE place for you to go when you're ready, or just anytime to check out an amazing store!!
Something that hasn't been mentioned:
If you do choose to go to a petco or some place of the like, make SURE you listen to the snake breathe - no whistling/crackling noises. Make sure it's flicking its tongue and is active. And look VERY carefully for tiny, little, pain in the butt MITES!!! You might not see them on the snake, but you could probably catch them on your hand.
And welcome to this world of addiction. BP's are awesome first snakes, but I promise you this - you will end up with more!!!! :P
Re: First timer, I would greatly appreciate some help with my first purchase.
I will be at the NH show this saturday all day and would love to meet up if you can find me :) It's a great show....lots of animals to see and even handle if you want! There's a thread in Off-Topic where a few of us are talking about going. I think the thread is called something like 'I booked my room'
I also totally recommend making an appointment with Kara at NERD to get the grand tour when it's time to buy a snake. I bought mine there and have had NO PROBLEMS...my male BP is extremely healthy, eats great, and Kara at NERD pretty much held my hand and answered all my questions.
do a lot of research about tubs, tanks, enclosures and the various issues. there are trade-offs with each type. Tubs are the easiest, glass is probably the toughest, and purpose-built plastic enclosures (which I have) are easy but expensive. Pick one that will suit your situation best.

Fish,
First off thanks for the reply.
Where did you buy your plastic enclosure mentioned above? Do you have any links showing various enclosures? I am going to try and get out of work on Saturday but I am not sure if that will happen.
Thanks for the feedback.
Re: First timer, I would greatly appreciate some help with my first purchase.
I know i spent over 200.00 dollar on stuff and that did not included the tank or snake.
