    that sounds like a good idea, im useing a homemade humidifier at the moment, have to tweek it a bit though. i plan to cover up a bit of the top, ive just been worried about not enough air getting in there but i gues its cool with such a large volume compared to how much air they circulate.

    its the air defuser. you know when you look at a fish tank and see a long "usually" blue stone thats making bubbles. i use that to supply air into the tank.

    yeah its good on air. big tank but i usually get home after work and open both sides of the lids and pull her out and hold her for a lil while tank airs out and fresh air goes in just in case. :P

    Was thinking, what happens if the pump fails or you lose power....that tank air tight? :( :(

    actually i changed lids. but the old lid had a series of holes burned into the plastic part of the lid. i bought a zoomed retractable lid that expands from 30gal to 60. its mesh on top and has 6 latch's that secure it to top of tank. but no tank isnt air tight with old lids :P
