    I know it what my cool side should be. But I was told to bump it up because of the possible RI.

    you had said your hide side temps are normally 97ish, thats too high period. Should be about 88-92 hot side 80-82 cool side, humid hides are not neccessary if your ambient humidity is 50%ish, Mine ranges 40-50%, when shedding i spray the substrate once or twice a day to bring it up to 60% Taking care of an RI is not very expensive, maybe 60-70 bucks, find a good vet thats deals with reptiles, dont go to a dog/cat clinic.
