    Congrats onm the new corn snake. I have 7 corns and just got my first BP.

    Hot side should be 80-85 and cool side 75 or so. 20L or 41 qt are sufficient for an adult.

    Cornsnalkes dont usually musk,corns arnt exactly rat snakes,tho they are in the same group.iv never heard of them musking anyways.i knwo some milk snakes and other king snakes do musk a pretty bad whiff though.

    The musking works as a defensive manner. Snakes can either bite or musk. Sometimes the musking is the least strenuous of the two.

    Think about it this way. If you were to be picked up by this large creature and not sure if you were going to be eaten or not, by musking, you might give them something not so tasty to eat and be left alone after that. You can live another day to breed and pass on this genetic and behavioral advantage.
