*sigh* And after all that, I decided it might be nice to buy the boy some nice, heavy exoterra hides (the rock-looking kinds). So, I drove to a PetCo ~25 minutes from here--it took a bit for me to figure out where it was, as I'm not too familliar with the area.

I bought him two of the small ones, as the medium ones looked way too roomy...

I get home, plop them in, and nudge Auryn into one so I can see how he fits. Well, he doesn't :) My boy's too fat for the small hides--alas. But I still think he'll be too small for the medium Exoterra. So, it looks like he gets to use the modified cool whip containers for a while longer. He seems to like them, when he's not under the paper...but he pushes them around pretty easily

Oh well...looks like it'll be a return trip to PetCo next week at some point to return them.

    Hi,

Can't you "pad out" the medium hides by placing properly cleaned rocks inside them?

I spent 2 days cutting and drilling coconuts to make small snake hides and discovered that, even though I started with small coconuts (stop s******ing at the back), they seem too large for the smallest hatchling and the house snake so was planning on tryng this myself once I find some rocks.

Huh...I never thought of that :) Interesting idea...maybe when I return the small ones, I'll get the Med. ones and see if I can "pad" them out with something.

Put the lime in the coconut, you drink 'em both together
Put the lime in the coconut, then you feel better

My little non eater - going to see if this makes her feel any more secure.

Or just make her drink more rum. :)
